Regina Provincial Correctional Centre

Overview

This project was carried out by P3A’s Joint Venture SPRA to address overcrowding as well as operational shortcomings of the existing facility. The project included development of 144 Remand Cells, 50 Secure Cells, 10 Medium Secure Cells, and 12 Medical Cells, as well as a Health Care Clinic, a new Control Centre for the entire facility, and some realignment of the perimeter security fence. In addition, the project involved a new Administration Building, a new Principle Entry, Admissions and Discharge, Staff Lockers and Showers, and a new ERT facility. Based on double bunking, the ultimate population to be supported in the expanded part of the facility is in excess of 400 offenders and remanded persons.

The RPCC redevelopment was part of an overall ongoing development plan for the site and facility, and the project was developed with this in mind - including considering potential future expansion.

The RPCC is registered as a LEED project with the Canada Green Building Council.
